Weighing it up – the cost of weight gain

Weighing it up - the cost of weight gain

How much does weight gain cost

You don’t often think of the amount we spend on food, fizzy drinks, McDonalds, snacks and treats – that got you overweight in the first place – yet it’s easy to be reluctant on spending money on a diet or weightloss.

Here’s some facts and figures;

McDonalds Quarter Pounder has 493 calories and 28g of fat. Add large fried and add another 398 calories and 21g fat.  It may only cost a few dollars but it’s weigh heavy on your body.

Versus; Lunch with a Formula 1 Shake made into a smoothie with ice, a banana and low fat milk – 295 calories, 1.3g fat.

A saving of 596 calories, and a whopping 47.7g of fat!

Recommended daily intake of fat should be no more than 30g if you are losing weight.

A pound of fat has 3500 calories.

If you want to lose a pound a week you need to cut your calorie intake by 500 a day (3500/7=500) or burn an extra 500 calories a day.

Thats equivalent to 3.5 hours walking.

Do you have time for that?

The cost of the McDonalds, Burger King, Crisps, Fish and Chips, KFC, processed pre-packaged meals – really does add up to alot of money.

If you stop eating pre-packaged, processed food, you will find your grocery bill reduces considerably. Make your own food from fresh.

As an added bonus – you’ll cut down on extra fat, sugar and calories and lose some weight as well.

The cost of your health and life needs to be important enough to you so that you you’ll see processed unhealthy foods will cost you in the long run. Doctors visits, operations, and the costs of having a disease like diabetes – will cost you way more than going on a diet and losing that weight now.

I know you can do it.
