You can successfully and safely lose weight while breastfeeding
Let’s face it – pregnancy can take it’s toll on your weight, and often Mums want to lose weight while breast-feeding. I get asked alot if it’s ok to diet while breastfeeding and if it’s safe to use Herbalife products while pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are still breastfeeding you should not aim to lose more than 500g (half a kilo) each week – any more than that and you may find your milk starts to reduce. 500g is a safe and sensible amount for breastfeeding mothers to lose each week.
You need to add 500 calories to any diet plan if you are breastfeeding – this 500 extra calories allows you the extra calories for producing milk.
So – a women under 100kg should aim to eat around 1200 calories, but while breastfeeding that total would be no less than 1700 calories per day. This ensures you have enough energy to produce breast milk for your baby, but at the same time allows you to lose weight.
Herbalife Formula 1 Meal Replacement Shakes are packed with vitamins and minerals you need for your own health and of course you’ll pass some of them to your baby – healthy for both of you! There are no drugs or chemicals in the Shakes – or in fact anything that is bad for you or baby – all natural non GMO.
You’ll feel like you have more energy (finally) and you won’t be hungry. On a meal plan to lose weight you would replace two meals a day and add one more shake for a snack (for your extra calories).
The Protein Powder supplement which you add to the Shakes is a great option for breastfeeding mothers who want to lose weight – as it will give you extra protein, and make you feel fuller for longer. The protein will help you maintain your energy levels evenly throughout the day and you’ll feel satisfied.
Clients using Formula 1 and Protein Powder together have reported not only healthy happy babies but successful weight loss too.
Once you have stopped breastfeeding you may like to consider some other weightloss enhancers like Chitosan and NRG Natural Guarana. Neither have warnings not to use while pregnant or breastfeeding – but Guarana is a natural source of caffeine and some Mums like to steer clear of that. The reason I suggest adding them after you have finished breastfeeding is because you don’t want to lose more than 500g a week just yet.
So – don’t go crazy – take things slow and you’ll emerge post breastfeeding as a slimmer you. Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions at all.
